Michael Flynn – Group Executive Chairman & CEO

Michael Flynn is the visionary founder and driving force behind FLI Global. Establishing the company in 1989, Michael has led its transformation from a specialist geosynthetics provider to a diversified global enterprise with a presence in over 40 countries. His journey began with a background in electronic engineering and a career in project management for Schlegel Lining Technology, now GSE Environmental.

Under Michael’s leadership, FLI Global has expanded its services across multiple sectors, including environmental solutions, infrastructure, and water management. Michael is known for his strategic risk-taking, motivational leadership, and strong belief in personal development and team building. His commitment to leadership development is evident in his completion of an MSc in Personal and Management Coaching from University College Cork, which reinforces his dedication to fostering growth within the company and across the industry. Michael is also a member of the Ernst & Young Global Entrepreneurship Alumnus since 2006, further highlighting his influence and contributions to the global business community.

Trevor Snell – Group Managing Director

Trevor Snell joined FLI Global in 2015, bringing with him over 25 years of experience in the foundation engineering sector. Trevor’s expertise lies in organisational development, people management, and building high-performing teams. His leadership has been instrumental in driving the growth and integration of FLI Global’s diverse business units.

As Group Managing Director, Trevor works closely with the leadership teams across all FLI Global Business Units to ensure that the company’s core values—trust, openness, honesty, collaboration, and innovation—are embedded in every aspect of operations. His focus on the development of people and organisational structure has been key to the successful acquisitions and integration of new businesses into the FLI Global framework. Trevor continues to uphold the philosophy that people are the most valuable asset in any business, a belief deeply rooted in the company’s culture.

Phil Stephenson – Group CFO

Phil Stephenson has been a pivotal figure at FLI Global since he joined in 2003. With a background as a Chartered Accountant and extensive experience across industries including nuclear, banking, and education, Phil transitioned into the construction sector, where he has developed significant expertise.

Initially joining to support Vertase FLI’s finance department, Phil’s role has expanded significantly over the years. As Group CFO, he is now responsible for financial and commercial management across the entire FLI Global group.

Phil’s strategic oversight ensures that the company’s financial operations are robust and aligned with global standards. His management of the group’s information systems further supports FLI Global’s ability to operate efficiently on a global scale, making him an integral part of the executive team.

Brian Flannery – Strategy Director

Brian Flannery joined FLI Global in 2016, bringing with him a wealth of experience in auditing and consulting. A chartered accountant by training, Brian’s career includes senior positions at Deloitte and KPMG across Europe. His experience extends to strategic transformation projects in the finance and insurance sectors, including leadership roles at Liberty Mutual and Siemens Ireland.

As Strategy Director at FLI Global, Brian is responsible for the development and execution of strategic initiatives that drive the company’s growth and innovation. His role involves leading special projects that are critical to the company’s long-term success, ensuring that FLI Global remains at the forefront of industry trends and continues to deliver exceptional value to its clients.

Daniel Blanchfield – Group Sustainability Manager

Daniel Blanchfield is the driving force behind FLI Global’s sustainability initiatives. With a background in sustainable development and engineering, Daniel’s expertise is pivotal in aligning FLI Global’s operations with the highest standards of environmental stewardship.

Daniel holds an MSc in Sustainable Development and a B Eng in Automotive Technology and Management. His early career included significant contributions to policy development on environmental and climate change issues while working with the Government Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment in Ireland. Before joining FLI Global, Daniel played a key role in formulating and implementing sustainability strategies at a long-established Irish tech company, where he successfully embedded sustainable practices within the organisational culture.

At FLI Global, Daniel leads the charge in driving sustainability across all business units. His efforts ensure that sustainability is not just a goal but a core component of the company’s ethos. Through his leadership, FLI Global continues to support clients in achieving their sustainability targets, reinforcing the company’s commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
