From Marketing to People & Culture: Rebecca’s Journey
Rebecca’s career path into People & Culture wasn’t something she initially planned—but looking back, it seems it was always meant to be.
Starting at Vertase FLI in 2011 in a dual marketing and HR role, she quickly discovered a passion for working with people and supporting their growth. Over time, her role evolved, and today, she leads the People & Culture function across the UK divisions of FLI Global.
“I love working with a variety of people and helping them to be their best. It’s a team effort—not just down to one person. Great teamwork and collaboration are the key.”
Challenges & Advice for Future HR Professionals
As a People & Culture Director, one of the biggest challenges Rebecca faces is ensuring that while she’s looking after the well-being of others, she also takes care of her own.
“It’s in my nature to care and to worry about people. But I’ve learned that it’s important to talk things through and not bottle them up.”
For those considering a career in HR or workplace culture, her biggest piece of advice is simple:
“Understand the business, not just the people. The best HR leaders know how the company operates and what it takes to attract, retain, and support great talent.”
